Text Box: Introduction
 
Woodpecker Tree Surgery has been established since 1998. The founder Oliver Bates qualified with a National Certificate in Horticulture and Arboriculture at Brooksby College, Melton Mowbray in 1998. 
 
Chris Wright joined in 2000 and became a business partner in 2001. He attended Moulton College, Northamptonshire and qualified with a National Certificate in Arboriculture. They both hold all relevant NPTC chainsaw units.
             
We currently operate in two teams of four and have a range of vehicles and equipment, including Ford Transit 3.5 ton tippers and Landrover Defenders. We use a range of woodchippers, chainsaws and other power tools.
 
Coverage
 
We operate throughout the East Midlands and London working for both private and commercial customers.
During 2002 Woodpecker Tree Surgery began working in partnership with Languard Ltd, carrying out tree works in Eastern Electric Sub Stations in North London and the surrounding areas. We also have worked for Miller Homes, a large house building company.
 
 
Insurance
 
Woodpecker Tree Surgery is covered by five million pound public liability and ten million pound employer liability. 
 
Our work is of the highest standard and references can be supplied on request. All work carried out by Woodpecker Tree Surgery is in accordance with the British Standards for Tree Works BS3998.
 
Recycling
 
All of our waste is chipped and recycled. Woodchipping are stored for a period until they compost down to soil. All large timber is logged and sold for fire wood.
